Socrates' Children Book Study --FULL

Socrates’ Children, by Trudy Govier, is an investigation of notions of thinking and knowing in Western Culture and history of Western philosophy from a unique perspective.

Participants are prepared to discuss the chapters each time they meet.

July 31 – Chapters 1, 2, 3 (75 pages): Socrates, Plato, Aristotle (400-300 BCE)

August 14- Chapters 4,5,6 (80 Pages): Descartes, Hume, Wollstonecraft (1700’s-1800’s)

September 12 – Chapters 7 & 8 (55 pages) Beauvoir, Wittgenstein, Contemporary Voices (1900’s . . . )
