Exploring Philosophy of Religion

We will explore varying conceptions of the divine; the significance of religious experience; proposed proofs and disproofs of God’s existence; issues of pluralism, diversity and tolerance; struggles over religiously motivated terrorism; and conceptions of immortality.

Our discussions will be of interest to religious believers and non-believers alike. An attraction in the past has been the calm and respectful atmosphere in which various ideas and commitments are considered. As a basis for our explorations of these themes, readings from Internet sources (encyclopedia and others) will be recommended.
