The group will view and critique six films directed by a range of directors whose work is associated with the earliest years of the New-Wave movement in British cinema, in vogue primarily during the late 1950s through the 1960s.
Films to be viewed will include: Jack Clayton’s Room at the Top (1959); Tony Richardson’s Look Back in Anger (1959); Karel Reisz’s Saturday Night and Sunday Morning (1961); Bryan Forbes’ The L Shaped Room (1962), John Schlesinger’s Billy Liar (1963), and Richard Lester’s The Knack (1965).
