**Full with Waitlist**
World history is filled with people and events that are thought-provoking and that can help our understanding of various cultures, conflicts, nation states, achievements, and human interactions. In our twelve plus years of meeting, the interest group has enjoyed a wide variety of topics that have spanned the centuries and the globe.
All members delve into the huge vault of human history to research and then share a subject of personal interest, followed by group discussion. The mix of presentations we’ve explored includes noteworthy individuals; Canada’s contributions; social issues; political movements; major military campaigns; advances in science and technology; and more. While world events often unfold across a backdrop of conflict, this is an opportunity for participants to share, learn about, and compare facets of world history through the ages and to consider their impacts. As well, the group has hosted guest speakers, gone on group tours, and gathered socially for lunches. |
