Digital Photography

Spring 2024, held "Online" bi-weekly.

Our group meets on-line every second Tuesday via Zoom video conferencing software.

 Spring 2024 meeting schedule: 1 to 3 pm : Apr 9, 23, May 7, 21, Jun 4, 18

CALL Digital Photography is ideal for those CALL members who are interested in developing their photography skills. We focus on in-camera technique and software processing of digital images. We encourage artistic expression. Our meeting format is informal, and participation is open to all experience levels and digital camera formats. The main activity is a bi-weekly photo challenge which takes place on the https://boomerartist.ca website.  Each group member may submit up to two images on each of the bi-weekly challenge web pages.  Two for the challenge theme and Two for "Photographers Choice". The images are critiqued both on-line and at the next Zoom group meeting.

We also hold several “themed” photography field trips in and around Calgary.  After each field trip, a special event web page is created. Participants are encouraged to post up to four of their favourite images for later discussion.

During the Zoom meetings, group members have an opportunity to describe their images in detail, including why and how the images were taken. Other group members may offer their assessments and suggestions. .

Our group has many experienced photographers who are eager to share their expertise. Questions can be asked at any time during the live Zoom meetings. If more detail is required, the conversation can be moved off-line.

The website is monitored and moderated by the facilitator.  We also use private email or phone conversations to help each other. Private Zoom sessions can also be arranged to help beginners get started.

If you are interested in joining, please email the facilitator by clicking the blue "Facilitator" button below.

Facilitator: Henri Walhout is an experienced photographer who enjoys photographing all kinds of subjects. He has kept pace with current equipment and software.

To join, email the Facilitator  (Click on the blue Facilitator link If no response: right click, copy email address & send manual email to register. )

* Non Member Guests are welcome, but are expected to join CALL after evaluating the first two sessions.
