Welcome to the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra Rehearsals

The Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra offers seniors a unique way to experience the orchestra. The CPO has open rehearsals for seniors for select performances. It is a great opportunity to see and hear how an orchestra prepares for a performance.

Rehearsals are at the Jack Singer Concert Hall from 10:00 to 12:30, with one 20 minute intermission. Doors open at 9:30AM.  The cost is $20.

The registration process has changed this year.

Instead of registering on the CALL website and paying at the door, members must register directly with the CPO by calling their box office.  The box office will take your credit card information and email you a confirmation of registration. The CPO will then have your name on the list at the entrance door. When you arrive for the rehearsal, your name will be checked off and you may enter.

Because the rehearsals are working sessions, the CPO is only offering a limited number of seats and would like you to register at least 2 weeks before the performance, so they can know what arrangements to make with Arts Commons.  There will be six rehearsals this year and the information on the performance and the dates is provided below. You may prepay for one  or all six of the rehearsals.

Gathering for Coffee/Lunch After the Performance

After the rehearsal, there will be a gathering for coffee/lunch  at Cravings Bistro, main floor, SE corner of Arts Common. Please register at CPO Rehearsal Coffee Registration if you would like to join us. This is a great way to meet fellow CALL members. 

If you are registered for coffee and are not able to attend, please use the Register button to contact the facilitator so the reservation  can be adjusted.

Facilitator: Wendy Lomnes. Wendy comes from a musical family, she had classical piano training as a child, developed a strong interest in classical music and became a big supporter of the CPO. As retirement from her geological career came closer, she became more involved in jazz and became a jazz singer as a retirement career.
